The Figure Models Guild is an organization comprised of models who consider modeling to be an art form unto itself. We believe that models are:
- A tool for the instructor
- A template for the artist
- An inspiration to the process
Members are expected to live up to minimum standards, which include:
- Dependability - show up for all scheduled appointments
- Punctuality - arrive in time so as to be ready at the session starting time
- Skill level - perform basic gesture poses & hold long poses in a reasonable manner
- Professionalism - to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times
Our members are professional models who are committed to these tenets and are dedicated to the premise that the model can enhance the level of creativity in the session. A Model Registry is available as part of an effort to aid qualified artists in search of models in the figurative arts, as well as to promote our members to those who hire models for legitimate and ethical purposes. Click on Model Registry for details concerning how models may join the guild and be included in the registry, and requirements for artists to receive copys.
